Opposition Is Your Opportunity

Unpopular opinion here but if you’re a christian that is depressed about how evil the world is, to the point where you have no hope — if the darkness feels overwhelming and you wish you were born in a different time in the history of the world, I say snap out of it. You asked for this. 

I believe we lived as spirit children of God in heaven before we were born on earth. As spirit children we had much to learn. God told us he created an earth so that we could be born and receive physical bodies. We were sent to earth to learn through experience good from evil. God  knew that earth-life would be difficult because the possibility for evil would exist and afflict and confuse his children. So he told his children, once I bring a knowledge of your savior Jesus Christ into your life, I need you to hold up that light so that others may see the way out of darkness.  

If you are a christian alive today then you asked God the Father for the opportunity to face the evil of today. You told God saying, Father, I want to come down when the world is in desperate need of valiant men and women who will stand for Jesus Christ. Father, send me to earth at the time when freedom is in danger and when justice is being obstructed. Father, send me and I will raise my voice in defense of truth and righteousness. I will raise my voice and demand justice from the robber run government. I will awake those around me and show them the light of freedom and the purpose of life. Father, I want to come down when the world is dark so that I can point people to the brightest light which is your Son, Jesus Christ. 

So, if you're feeling depressed and hopeless, then remember that you asked God our Father for this opportunity. And that God saw you fit for the task. There is no other time in the history of the world that you would rather be alive than today. You have a mission to accomplish, and you have the light of Jesus Christ to hold up. So get to it!
